At Iqra International School, nothing is an after-school extra. Our seven pillars hold up every day — each one shows up somewhere in every single school day. Together they describe the whole child we hope to nurture.
1. Islamic character
Faith, adab and gratitude are woven into daily life. Children develop core Islamic values, ethics and compassion inspired directly by the teachings of the Quran and Sunnah.
2. Practical life skills
Independence grows through real-world activities: mopping and cleaning, tying shoelaces and self-care, food preparation and table setting, and organising clothes and belongings.

3. Nature-based learning
Gardens, farms and outdoor exploration are part of the timetable, not a reward. Children care for plants and animals, run indoor gardening projects and study insects and birds. Read more in our outdoor learning zone guide.
4. Emotional intelligence
Self-regulation, empathy and connection are taught as carefully as spelling. Children learn to understand their feelings and respect others.
5. Language and communication
Arabic, Urdu and English are naturally integrated into the day — through stories, songs, discussion and role play.
6. Creativity and exploration
Open-ended play and discovery keep curiosity alive. Children are encouraged to ask, explore and think independently rather than wait to be told.
7. Physical independence
Movement, responsibility and confidence go together. Our movement zone builds strength, coordination and balance, while daily responsibilities build ownership.
The child who emerges
When all seven pillars stand together, children grow up confident, compassionate, curious, responsible, faithful, creative and adaptable — rooted in faith and prepared for life. See how the pillars fit into our approach.
